Kurt offers a complete course in all mallet instruments including vibraphone, marimba and xylophone. He teaches his students reading and execution first. Then, as the student advances, Kurt teaches them theory, harmony and jazz improvisation. He uses his own text books and he provides his students with play-along CDs.

• Kurt played as a percussionist with the Ft. Lauderdale Symphony Orchestra and Miami Symphony Orchestra for six years.

• He won a full musical scholarship to the University of Miami and was featured as a marimba soloist with the touring U.of M. Concert Band.

• Kurt has more than 35 years experience playing shows, recording sessions and jazz gigs.

  MIDI Sequencing and Recording

     Kurt offers a complete comprehensive course in MIDI sequencing. This is the wave of the future in the music business. Many top acts, TV shows and film producers now use sequenced music. Kurt will provide the student with his or her own text book and any sequencing programs needed for the student's computer.
     He has his own studio complete with 256 MIDI channels and a 32 channel board. He has all the recording equipment needed for his students to become proficient in the art of engineering and music production.

  Arranging and Composition

  Kurt starts with the basics in arranging: theory, harmony and the use and range of all the instruments. He then goes on to provide the student with their own workbook to apply this knowledge. As the student progresses, Kurt will provide the software needed so that the student can write and print out full scores and individual parts for all the arrangements.

  This course goes hand-in-hand with his MIDI sequencing course and the student will be provided with all the software needed to record and play back all of his or her arrangements.

  Credits

• He has arranged and written scores for the Ft. Lauderdale Symphony, The Miami Symphony, the "Riflemen" Army stage band and the University of Miami touring band.

• He has arranged and composed music for jingles, show acts, big bands and PBS television programs.
